The rapporteur, Ms. Katja Gabriëls, refers to the written report.

I will give the word to Mr. Top.

Alain Top Vooruit

Our group will abstain from this bill.

For us, this method, especially a bill, seems very strange. This includes enabling the external performance of the position of the Director-General of Resource Management and Information, thus also for non-personnel members. This is strange, for the following reasons.

The current general inspector will retire at the beginning of next year. So here is played short on the ball or on one function or one man. A self-respecting organization also has a timely eye on its internal structures and the continuity of its operations and services. If this had been done, there would have been no bill, but a bill to enlighten the organization and make new proposals. It is also strange in terms of high urgency, four months before the retirement of the titularis. What makes the difference? A draft law instead of a draft law should not be consulted with the State Council, as the then majority rejected Mrs Matz’s request in the committee to consult with the State Council.

For all these reasons, our group will abstain.
