Mr. Speaker, I am the rapporteur for this very good proposal by Mr. Bonte.

In the previous legislature, we also submitted such a proposal. In this legislature this did not happen yet because we were waiting for the results of the study ordered by former minister Jambon. Meanwhile, this study was thoroughly explained in the committee and we were able to fully understand the Minister’s honest position on this subject. We were therefore on the same wavelength as Minister De Crem.

Subsequently, there was a vote in the Committee on Internal Affairs, where only the sp.a and the N-VA approved the proposal. All other parties abstained or voted against. Until then my report.

On behalf of my party, I would like to add another concern to this. It is a pity that the Flemish parties were not on the same wavelength. I must say that a very positive opening was made from the MR. Colleague Pivin even took the word "associations" in his mouth. So I hope that in the next legislature the parties can grow together to reach a solid solution.
