Mr. Speaker, it is, as you know, a historical and democratic fact that, under Article 183 of the Constitution, the Parliament must establish the military contingent each year. Your Defence Committee has decided that the maximum number of soldiers that can be called under arms in 2007 can be 40.935, notably 40.035 soldiers of the active frame and 900 recalled.
