Rapporteur Walter Muls ⚙
Mr. Speaker, colleagues, the discussion is actually about whether an investigative judge or a prosecutor is authorized to verify the identification of an IP address.
Each computer has a specific number that can be identified when connected to the Internet. As a result of certain jurisprudence, there has been controversy over whether or not an investigative judge should be involved. The draft law makes this clear. It is no longer necessary to appeal to an investigative judge.
This bill was adopted with 10 votes in favor and 1 abstinence.
