I am referring to the excellently prepared written report.

I would like to briefly explain why we submitted this proposal. The history of State Security is characterized by a long and time-long list of flaters and blunders.
I will give you a few examples. The Moroccan Abdelkader Belliraj turned out to be not only a terrorist, but also an informant of the State Security. There is the story of the voice technology company Lernout & Hauspie, where the State Security looked the other way. There is the case of Tractebel in Kazakhstan. There is the very strange case of the Flemish folk singer Soetkin Collier, who was pointed with the finger by the State Security. There are the mistakes of the State Security regarding the fraud with fake visas and identity documents. There is the story of the isostatic press that would be delivered to Iran. There is the escape of the far-left militant Fehriye Erdal. There are many such examples.
Therefore, we have proposed to eliminate that misleading service and ensure that the succession is ensured by the police service. This is not so exceptional. This is happening in Denmark and the United States. The FBI is a police service. We believe that the powers and staff can be transferred to the Federal Police, more specifically to the General Directorate of the Administrative Police, which, by the way, already carries out surveillance tasks, as does the State Security. Why not put it in one service?
The remaining work can be assigned to the federal judicial police, where, by the way, people are already very actively engaged in criminal issues such as terrorism, drug trafficking and arms trafficking.
Hence this proposal from our group.
