Mr. Speaker, colleagues, when Mr. Verherstraeten asked to sign this bill, the VLD — although we had great technical concerns in the drafting of the bill — nevertheless intended to have to sign it because there were indeed great problems in the field among people who had followed the procedure of Child & Family, in order to obtain a principle approval. However, they were forced to go to the court to get an adequacy judgment. In some courts it turned out to be no problem, in others it brought huge difficulties.
Unlike the transitional measures for free adopters, which we had included in the Program Law in July, there were no transitional measures in this regard, and we therefore felt urgent that they would come. We tried to pull with the car to see this quickly resolved.
I would like to thank the Cabinet for responding immediately. Through a joint amendment, which was adopted unanimously, it was ensured that there was a solution for those people who were in an emotionally difficult situation with the adoption of their child.

I would like to thank everyone for their participation in this project. In fact, it was urgent to be able to address the problem related to the transitional provisions. I would like to thank the staff, the President of the Committee on Justice and the Minister.
