Mr. Speaker, I understand that everything must be done to get as many texts here approved in the shortest possible time. Was it not usual at that time, in the distant past, that the competent minister was present at the time when draft laws were discussed? Belgium was still a democracy, ⁇ .
All sorts of drafts are discussed between and for, and in the meantime the minister is apparently not even needed here.
President Herman De Croo ⚙
I know, I understand you.
Tony Van Parys CD&V ⚙
I don’t want to necessarily insist in this case, but it’s not a way of working.
President Herman De Croo ⚙
Mr Van Parys, I must tell you that we discussed this yesterday at the Conference of Presidents. With a break from the unilateral conference, “small” projects have been put on the agenda. I have requested the approval of this agenda.
But you speak in general, I understand.
Tony Van Parys CD&V ⚙
I speak in general, but also in particular. This is an important draft for the jurisdiction of the Court of Appeal of Mons, van Bergen. I would have dared to assume that the Minister of Justice would have been so interested that she would at least have been present.
Well, I will not disturb her in her busy occupations. She is probably working on the round-sharing of lingerie tires on the occasion of the upcoming Christmas party. But it does not go so.
President Herman De Croo ⚙
I have been told that she will come, Mr. Van Parys.
Tony Van Parys CD&V ⚙
For me, she should not come.
President Herman De Croo ⚙
Finally, if she’s here, we’ll see it.
