During the general discussion in the committee, a colleague asked the question of the delay and the arrangements that could be made to accelerate these so-called discharges to the directors. The Minister of Finance has announced that he will contact the Court of Auditors. He would let us know what the prospects are to accelerate this process. In this way, our original intention can be better respected, namely, a shorter play on the ball in terms of the administration of this State and the execution of the budget.

Mr. Speaker, I actually have a problem with a discharge for the CVP ministers from 1990 to 1993. However, I have proposed in the Committee on Finance that a discussion should be held in the Subcommittee for the Court of Auditors, whose chairman is Mr. Tavernier. It is perfectly possible to hold such a discussion with the President or with other members of the Court of Auditors. Therefore, a new calendar can be drawn up in connection with some designs that could not be handled in time. For example, it is possible to make two, or three, definitive arrangements per year without any problems.
However, the problem arises now. I have to ask the Parliament for discharge for the CVP ministers of a previous government. It is not easy for me, but I will do it.

Mr. Speaker, colleagues, I would like to point out that this is the second time we approve accounts. Today we deal with the accounts of 1990, 1991, 1992 and 1993. If you ask me, this is a serious pick-up movement. We will therefore insist on the Minister of Finance that the accounts of the CVP and PSC ministers be settled promptly.
