Mr. Speaker, Mr. Minister, I would like to request the postponement of the vote on this bill as the situation has evolved since we examined it in committee last week. There was indeed another blocking of the peace process between Israel and Palestine. Furthermore, the various democratic parties have submitted a draft resolution accompanying the bill. I would therefore wish that we postpone this project for one or two weeks so that Israel understands that our country is reacting to this new blockade.
Minister Louis Michel ⚙
Mr. Speaker, I understand Mrs. Drion, whose point of view I partially share. But we are the last country to ratify this treaty. I will take all necessary steps and explain to whom of right our reluctance and reservations. I will exert maximum pressure, but we can no longer today, for obvious diplomatic reasons, postpone this project. I ask you not to insist because, in any case, in fifteen days we will ratify it and then we will not be stronger than we are today.

Mr. Speaker, I will then ask the Minister to take into account the fact that we have submitted a proposal for a resolution signed by all democratic parties. It would therefore be useful that you refer to this resolution, even though we have not yet voted for it.
Minister Louis Michel ⚙
I have already had the opportunity to talk to the Israeli ambassador about this draft resolution. I told him how difficult it was, at the parliamentary level, to support the position of his country and to maintain proper bilateral relations due to the difficulties in the peace process. I gave him a copy of this resolution, which I have also supported intellectually and politically.
