                    Mijnheer de voorzitter, ik zal het verslag brengen vanop mijn bank, om wat tijd te besparen en omdat mijn benen te lang zijn en het statief van uw micro te kort.

Wij hebben gisteren twee wetsvoorstellen besproken die werden ingediend door mevrouw De Meyer en consorten enerzijds, en de heer De Crem en mevrouw Pieters, anderzijds, aangaande een rechtzetting van een brief die door de FOD Financiën in de loop van de zomer werd rondgestuurd. Een aantal oorlogsstrijders, Poolse krijgsgevangenen en mensen die zich tijdens de wereldoorlog hadden ingezet aan de zijde van de geallieerden, verloren hun vergoeding door die rondzendbrief van de FOD Financiën.

Zowel mevrouw Pieters als mevrouw De Meyer hebben hun wetsvoorstel toegelicht. Als basistekst werd het wetsvoorstel van mevrouw Magda De Meyer gebruikt. De minister heeft geantwoord op een aantal opmerkingen van mevrouw Pieters. Een van de vragen handelde over de gepresteerde diensttijd van zes maand. De minister antwoordde daarop dat deze gepresteerde diensttijd een minimumvereiste is om aan het statuut te voldoen. Hij voegde er wel aan toe dat, om tot die zes maand te komen, verschillende periodes gedurende de Tweede Wereldoorlog samengevoegd mochten worden. Vervolgens zijn de artikelen 1, 2, 3 en 4 van het voorliggende wetsvoorstel goedgekeurd, alsook de globaliteit ervan, met eenparigheid van stemmen. Ook mevrouw Pieters keurde het wetsvoorstel goed. Zij heeft tijdens haar interventie eraan toegevoegd dat haar wetsvoorstel uiteindelijk hetzelfde probleem behandelde en net zoals het voorstel van mevrouw De Meyer en consorten een anomalie in de administratie wilde rechtzetten, want dat was ook haar bekommernis. De vragen die zij aan de minister van Landsverdediging had gesteld waren voldoende beantwoord door de minister, waardoor zij zich bij de stemming heeft aangesloten bij de meerderheid en er een eenparigheid van stemmen was.

Mr. Speaker, I will bring the report from on my couch, to save some time and because my legs are too long and the stand of your microphone is too short.

We discussed yesterday two bills submitted by Mrs. De Meyer and consortia on the one hand, and Mr. De Crem and Mrs. Pieters on the other, concerning a correction of a letter sent by the FOD Finance in the course of the summer. A number of war fighters, Polish prisoners of war and people who had deployed on the side of the Allies during the World War, lost their compensation by that circulation letter of the FOD Finance.

Both Ms. Pieters and Ms. De Meyer explained their bill. As a basic text, the bill was used by Ms. Magda De Meyer. The Minister responded to a number of comments from Mrs. Pieters. One of the questions concerned the service period of six months. The Minister replied that this service time is a minimum requirement to comply with the Statute. He added that, in order to reach those six months, different periods during the Second World War could be combined. Subsequently, the Articles 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the present bill, as well as its overallity, were approved unanimously. Ms. Peters also approved the bill. She added during her intervention that her bill ultimately addressed the same problem and, like the proposal of Mrs. De Meyer and consorts, aimed to correct an anomaly in the administration, because that was also her concern. The questions that she had asked the Minister of Land Defence were sufficiently answered by the Minister, so that she joined the vote with the majority and there was a unanimous vote.
